Auras are special effects, placed on an target in-game entity (player character, NPC, monster, or a structure), that apply certain status effects to the entity.

Auras can be applied in many various ways, such as as a result of using a skill (for example, Priest's icon Regen skill applies a healing-over-time aura on the target), activating a stance (like Knight's icon Defensive Stance), using an item (like icon Averro Reinhold's Vegetable Sandwich), or even by falling from a high height.

Auras can be:

  • Buffs, that apply positive status effects to the target entity, giving them advantage;
  • Debuffs, that apply negative status effects, hampering the target in some way;
  • Or Neutral, affecting the target in a certain way that doesn't give direct advantage or disadvantage in any way.

Aura Duration

Usually auras are temporary and wear off after a specific amount of time or until the entity dies in combat. But some auras can stay on the target until they are manually removed.

Aura Power

Some auras can have a specific value assigned to them, called power. This value can affect the aura's status effect values or, in some cases, act as the aura's health points, making the aura wear off when the power goes down to 0.

It's possible to decrease the duration or completely avoid certain auras from being applied by having resistance to auras of that type.
