Status Effect
From Ymirheim Wiki
Status Effect modifies the status of a target in-game entity (player character, NPC, monster, or a structure), altering the target's attributes or behavior. Do not confuse status effects with auras, aura is what applies the status effect.
Some status effects can be reverted, while some others apply some permanent changes.
Status effects can be applied by:
- Auras can apply a status effect for the duration, reverting the status effect when the aura wears off (like Sprint). Alternatively, auras can sometimes constantly apply some permanent status effect with specific interval until the aura wears off (for example, damage-over-time auras like Deep Cut).
- Active Skills can apply status effect to the skill caster, that will be effective only for the moment when the skill is applied. For example, Recruit's Final Shot increases the caster's attack power only for the moment when the skill is used.
- Passive Skills apply status effects while the skill is available and meets certain conditions. For example, Sword Mastery provides its status effect only when the player character is wielding a sword.
- Equipment items can provide status effects for the characters who equip them. For example, Reinforced Wooden Chestpiece gives Physical Defense and bonus Maximum Health when a character equips it.
- Character Titles can provide various status effects when the title is active.
